2017 Laidlaw Medal Recipient

Congratulations to Monique Jilesen, Lenczner Slaght, recipient of the 2017 Laidlaw Medal.

The Laidlaw Medal is an award for excellence in advocacy presented to an advocate in his or her middle years of practice. The medal honours Douglas K. Laidlaw, Q.C., a leading Canadian litigator who was killed in a traffic accident in 1984 at the height of his career. By the time of his death, Doug had argued more than 50 appeals to the Supreme Court of Canada. Doug Laidlaw had strong connections to The Advocates’ Society.

The Medal will be presented at the End of Term Dinner on June 15, 2017 in Toronto.
