Statement of The Advocates' Society

The Advocates' Society is dedicated to promoting the rule of law and believes that civil dialogue is crucial to our democracy.
We recognize that many of our members are being impacted by the war in Israel and Gaza. We condemn anti-Semitism and Islamophobia. We reject verbal and physical intimidation, incitement to violence, and the glorification or celebration of violence or barbarity.
We denounce the brutal Hamas terrorist attack. We call for all parties to respect international law, and to permit humanitarian aid to reach those in need. We mourn the terrible loss of life in Israel and in Gaza. The suffering and fear faced by ordinary people is unimaginable and we fervently wish for peace.

La Société des plaideurs se consacre à la promotion de la primauté du droit et estime qu'un dialogue civil est essentiel à notre démocratie.
Nous reconnaissons que beaucoup de nos membres sont touchés par la guerre en Israël et à Gaza. Nous condamnons l'antisémitisme et l'islamophobie. Nous rejetons l'intimidation verbale et physique, l'incitation à la violence et la glorification ou la célébration de la violence ou de la barbarie.
Nous dénonçons la brutale attaque terroriste du Hamas. Nous exhortons toutes les parties à respecter le droit international et à permettre à l'aide humanitaire d'atteindre ceux qui sont dans le besoin. Nous déplorons les terribles pertes de vies humaines en Israël et à Gaza. La souffrance et la peur auxquelles sont confrontés les gens innocents sont inimaginables et nous souhaitons ardemment la paix.
