Please note that this program is only open to participants of the March 5th plenary session of Digital Evidence for Litigators.

Participants of the Digital Evidence for Litigators plenary session are also eligible to join us for our hands-on skills workshop, which is available fully remotely via Zoom or in person in Toronto. The workshop is your chance to practise and refine your skills examining and cross-examining experts on digital evidence in a supportive environment. You will get practical, individualized feedback from our trained instructors. You will also learn from your peers as you work through the interactive exercises in small groups.

You will learn and practise how to authenticate and use different forms of digital evidence properly during an examination-in-chief, and how to challenge digital evidence effectively on cross-examination. During these hands-on exercises you will work with a recently developed case file containing realistic digital files and exhibits.

Please note that the workshop requires advance preparation based on a mock case file, which will be provided to you in advance of the workshop.

Please note that examples throughout the program will be based on Ontario law and rules.

Junior members (under 5 years of call) who joined The Advocates' Society in 2023 or who join in 2024 and who register for the plenary session of an Essential Advocacy Skills Workshop program in the 2024 calendar year can attend that program’s skills workshop for free.

This is a pilot initiative designed to engage Junior members in their first year of membership in the Society. The pilot does not apply to Student members or Junior members who joined The Advocates' Society prior to January 2023.

Eligible CPD Hours:
This program contains 2.25 Professionalism Hours, and is eligible for up to 4.75 Substantive Hours.
